HOW TO START?1. CREATE YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILEThe user
PROFILE is the user’s professional space. Using its several sections, you will be able to include your education, working experience and film credits in a CV page online, as well as embed your short films, documentaries, and any other videos you may have made, upload your production stills and photo books, blog about indie films and quickly get in touch with your contacts. It is the place where others will know about you, and hopefully… offer you a job in their next production!
In My Profile, you will find the
individual URL of your profile, which you may then include in other websites you use, in the emails you send, and in the personal messages you send when you apply for a job. Moreover, you will find a printable version of your CV from the CV tab.
2. FIND A JOB, COLLABORATE IN PRODUCTIONSYou may subscribe to our information
BULLETINS by email and/or
RSS (daily, weekly or monthly). The Jobs bulletin contains the listing of the jobs for crew and staff (DoP, producer...), and the Casting bulletin contains the latest casting calls (actors, extras, stunts, models...). Alternatively, you may always find the newest ads on the website, in the PRODUCTION menu.

3. FIND CREW, CAST AND RESOURCES FOR YOUR PRODUCTIONSPlease publish your ads in the different sub-sections of the PRODUCTION section; whether looking for people (Jobs Board and Casting Call) or resources (Classified) for your productions.
The ads will be published on the website almost instantly and included in their respective bulletins, which will be sent to all the subscribed users on the next day, week or month.
Filmutea offers all the required functionalities for easily managing, searching and selecting the candidates online. That is why regarding contact details, we strongly recommend not including your personal email in your ads. It is the only way for not receiving Spam later.
4. EXPAND YOUR NETWORK OF CONTACTSWhen browsing through Filmutea, or searching for
PROFESSIONALS (Find Filmuteans), you will find users to whom you are interested in getting in touch with, or for your next production. To invite them to be your contact, just visit their profile and click on the ‘Add to Contacts’ button included in the ‘Profile Tools’ box. The system will send a default message, which you will be able to personalise, to both their Inbox in Filmutea and their personal email, which then they will be able to accept or reject. In addition, you may see your complete list of contacts by clicking on the ‘Contacts’ tab in ‘My Profile’, or by clicking on ‘My Account’.
Filmutea offers a very powerful user search. In Find Filmuteans, you will be able to filter by professional category, gender, age, country and many more categories. By default, the system will show you the latest users who have logged into Filmutea, but you may chose other options, like alphabetical order… Only register users may access the user search.
5. SHOWCASE YOURSELF AND YOUR WORK
Embed your
VIDEOS: features, shorts, documentaries, commercials, music videos, showreels...
Either shot by you, or collaborated/worked in as a: director, actress, runner… including details for genre, role, production date, copyright, etc.
All the videos must have been previously uploaded to YouTube or similar. Then, in your profile, you just have to paste the embed of every single video. All the videos are visible in both the user profile and the Multimedia section, where all the community may then find, watch, comment and rate them.

PHOTOS…
You may upload all your production stills, festival photos and other photos in the PHOTOS tab of your profile. All the photos are visible in both the user profile and the Multimedia section, where all the community may then find, watch, comment and rate them.
To edit or delete a photo, just go to the Photos tab of My Profile, then click on the photo you want to delete, then click on Manage Media and delete it there. The maximum total capacity for media per user is 2 MB. We accept the following formats: GIF, JPEG, JPG, and PNG.
6. PROMOTE YOUR EVENTS AND COURSESYou may publish information regarding festivals and screenings in the
CALENDAR section. You may publish information regarding courses in the
COURSES section. Apart from being available on the website, the information is also sent to the subscribed users of these two bulletins (daily, weekly or monthly).
7. PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMUNITYKeep your
BLOG alive! Let us know about the day-to-day in the shoot, how well you have done in today’s casting session, yesterday’s late night working on the special effects, the filmmakers you met last week at the independent film festival... The blog is the place to share what you do with others. Add your blog entries from My Profile. Your blog will be available from both your My Profile and the Community Blogs, so the others may easily leave you their comments.

Add film reviews in
REVIEWS, and comment and rate other people’s reviews.
8. INVITE YOUR FRIENDSYou may invite your friends and workmates by simply clicking the ‘Invite Friends’ button (see top right corner of any page, or from My Profile or My Account). You only have to introduce their emails and personalise a message.
9. ADD YOUR GROUPS AND JOIN OTHERS
GROUPS will allow your to create, find and join professional communities with similar experiences, passion, interests….
10. USE GOOGLE MAPS
When you publish an ad for a job or casting call, or when you publish a venue, you may include its specific location on Google Maps. You just have to introduce the following information in the following order: street and street number, city and country; and a small
GOOGLE MAPS will show next to your ad on Filmutea.
11. PRIVACYWhen you register on Filmutea, you may decide that your Profile is totally public, visible to friends only or completely private. You may also change this setting at a later stage.
12. LANGUAGE NAVIGATIONYou may use our website in both Spanish and English. The navigation buttons are placed top and bottom right of every page.
