FILMUTEA

Confirmed Partners

Filmutea is the production company behind the whole project; a new generation production company based in Barcelona (Spain), with three specialized divisions:

a) ‘Filmutea Community’: It manages an online community for Spanish filmmakers, with over 40,000 professionals; offering them a free jobs board and other networking services.

b) ‘Filmutea Brands’: It put brands that want to outsource their video productions in touch with the talented creators of the community, via competitions. In June 2010, the Spanish Ministry of Culture awarded Filmutea EUR 10,000 to develop this division.

c) ‘Filmutea Productions’: It develops, produces and distributes Transmedia projects (like Panzer Chocolate); and offers consulting, creative and training services to other brands and entities interested in Transmedia experiences; as well as in the new fundraising, promotion and distribution strategies using the Internet.

Furthermore, Filmutea is also dedicated to bridging the gap between the independent Spanish market and the more emerging creative trends in the Anglo-Saxon markets. In this context:

In December 2010, Filmutea confirmed an international partnership with MoFilm, a global community of filmmakers working with world-leading brands and distributing content to a large part of the globe. MoFilm also runs the world's largest mobile film festival in Barcelona, once a year together with the GSM Association, as well as working with leading film festivals, including Shanghai, Cannes, Sundance, Locarno and London.

In September 2010, Filmutea assisted Tabakalera in organizing a Transmedia event within the ‘International Students Film Meeting’ section, of the San Sebastian Film Festival Donostia Zinemaldia.

In November 2009, Filmutea confirmed an international alliance with The WorkBook Project, founded by Lance Weiler.

Since 2009, Filmutea has been invited by many entities to make presentations about Transmedia, crowdfunding and other relevant subjects; including: Blanquerna University, Catalan Open University, European Institute of Design, Forumtech, Valencia University, AVA Foundation, SGAE, etc.

The Digitalent Foundation invested EUR 30,000 in July 2009 for the initial development of the project.

Its main aims are to detect latent and incipient talent and to encourage digital culture by bringing this digital talent into the industry and the circuits of cultural dissemination. The current trustees are directors of companies with an important presence in the digital industry, belonging to various areas of it, including Cromosoma, a leading Spanish animation company.

The Audiovisual Livinglab Terrassa (ALT) invested EUR 10,000 in March 2011 in the development of the video game.

The ALT is managed at the Audiovisual Park of Catalonia (PAC), which provides a melting-pot for ideas and talent; and which has been specifically designed to facilitate project execution. It is a real driving force behind a tangible industry.

The PAC currently has two sets of 600 sqm and 1,200 sqm, featuring all the necessary ancillary services; and they are currently in the process of building another two, of the final total of six. In the short time that the PAC has been operating, it has already created numerous advertising spots, films for TV and cinema and television programmes.

The PAC covers an area of 50,000 sqm, with a reception, meeting rooms, cafeteria and a landscaped area of over 4,000 sqm, which is ideal for organizing large events, as well as providing a backlot for shooting exteriors.
